On April 19, 2024, Prof. Yang from Tianjin University was invited by the Center to have academic exchanges with students and teachers from School of Future Technology, School of Physics and Electronics. Prof. Yang Quanhong gave a lecture entitled "From Lithium to Sodium, the Past and Present Life of Sieved Carbon Anode". The report was hosted by Prof. Chen Ke, and some teachers and graduate students of the two colleges attended the report.
In the report, Prof. Yang focused on how to use carbon to pry the development of future batteries and the key to break the problem of sodium-ion battery productization. At the same time, he emphasized the structure of sieve-type carbon anode material, "big belly, small mouth", and the sodium storage mechanism of this structure. Finally, Prof. Yang Quanhong ended his speech with a poem: "Flowers bloom early or late, their duration is long or short; they are equally splendid and beautiful; don't be proud of the momentary blossoms, and don't be discouraged by the temporary blooms", encouraging us not to be discouraged by the temporary difficulties, and to persevere to reap the rewards in the end. Participating teachers and students had an in-depth discussion with Ms. Yang on issues of interest, and Ms. Yang's detailed answers and explanations opened up the students' scientific research horizons and provided them with valuable scientific research ideas.
